I have a first class BSc (Hons) in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM): Acupuncture, from the University of Westminster in London, UK. I am also trained in tui-na massage and prescribing Chinese herbal medicines. I’m a North Carolina licensed acupuncturist and overseas member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), which represents the highest standards of professional acupuncture in the UK. I’m on the BAcC’s Editorial Committee, and am an editorial assistant for the Journal of Chinese Medicine, for which I write the quarterly acupuncture research news.
My first degree was in molecular biology. I spent five years working in medical bioscience research and publishing, and went on to run a web design business for seven years before beginning my acupuncture studies. After completing my training, I co-founded Arc Integrated Health, a multidisciplinary complementary health practice in central London. As well as being a director and practitioner at Arc for six years, I was in private practice at London’s Hammersmith Hospital, focussing on women’s health and fertility.
As a long-time student of mindful movement practices and Yoga Alliance registered yoga teacher, I have a special interest in mindful movement practices such as yoga, tai chi, and qigong, and I am enthusiastic about promoting their benefits in health maintenance.
